This Blog and Its People
About AN EMOTIONAL REACTION
AN EMOTIONAL REACTION aims to provide an experience that is musical, emotional, and aware. It’s fueled solely by passion and occasional free time. There’s no shortage of music blogs out there, even very good ones (and some great ones) but I still had to make this blog because I wanted something that could cater to me 100%. Let’s be real—a lot of the blogosphere is homogeneous in terms of its makeup. There are weird moments I go through as a female when sexist stuff slaps me in the face and it’s just accepted. Ick. My goal is to think and discuss about that kind of thing as it crops up, even as we rec music and promote artists.
So
- try and be a bag of dicks somewhere else, yes?
- pop music is a-ok with us and always will be, but obviously smaller bands and lesser-known musicians are often focused on as well
- MP3s are sometimes made available for a limited time, for promotional and previewing purposes only. If you see a track that’s not supposed to be posted here, shoot me an email and I will comply with removing it as soon as possible. (Note: this also goes for any photographs you see.) Also, please be aware that if anything, the point of this blog is to support and promote music artists and to think critically and lovingly about music. I support artists being supported. And honestly, Crystal still buys vinyl.
About the Writers
Britt
Britt is a twentysomething MA student with a daytime job in academic publishing. She likes magical realism and Lykke Li. In her spare time she shops, gets lost in Philadelphia, and goes to shows.
She is qualified to write about music because she is awesome. That’s all you need these days.
